Faculty coaches led students to success in five separate moot court competitions this year:

1. Appellate Lawyers Association Moot Court Competition, Chicago, IL (Fall 2016)

2. National Juvenile Law Moot Court Competition, Costa Mesa, CA (2 teams) (Spring 2017)

3. Rendigs National Products Liability Moot Court Competition, Cincinnati, OH (Spring 2017)

Team Coached by Eunice Park Wins National Juvenile Law Moot Court Competition

2Ls Ruby Becker and Keith Gallarzo, coached by Professor Eunice Park, won the 21st Annual National Juvenile Law Moot Court Competition, held at Whittier Law School on February 5-6. In a particularly competitive year with 22 teams competing, Keith also won Fifth Place Oral Advocate in the Preliminary Rounds and Second Place Oral Advocate after the Quarter-Finals.  The final round was adjudicated by the Honorable Michael Levanas, Presiding Judge of the Los Angeles Juvenile Courts; the Honorable Craig E. Arthur, of the Orange County Superior Court, currently sitting in a juvenile dependency assignment; the Honorable Teresa Sullivan, of the Los Angeles County Superior Court who serves in the Edmund D. Edelman Children’s Court; and Dean Penelope Bryan, of Whittier Law School.
